Accelerated Pavement Load Facility

Faculty and Students working on the highway

Ohio University's Civil Engineering Department and its Ohio Research Institute for Transportation and the Environment are on the cutting edge in concrete and asphalt pavements research, noise abatement, and highway structures.

Faculty in CE and ORITE are pursuing a wide variety of research projects in the transportation field, aided by field and lab facilities, including the Accelerated Pavement Load Facility. Funding for these projects comes from government and private sources, such as the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration.
