Runoff Field

Environmental Data Graph

Environmental research focuses on areas such as landfills, seepage, erosion and sediment control, waste management, and subsurface explorations. It is increasingly crucial for modern civil engineers to be able to develop materials and systems that maintain and improve our environment.

The Civil Engineering department at Ohio University is actively researching answers to problems such as storm water runoff from highways, landfill components, and acid mine runoff issues. Ohio University's civil engineering faculty and students are providing solutions to environmentally based problems.
