Guy Riefler

Guy Riefler joined the Civil Engineering Department in September 2000 after completing post-doctoral work at the University of Connecticut. His research interests include the biodegradation of TNT and other nitroaromatic compounds, acid mine drainage treatment, iron nanoparticles for the cleanup of groundwater pollution, phytoremediation, sediment transport in streams, and the use of molecular tools to identify bacterial communities in the environment. Dr. Riefler has three years experience at ENVIRON Corporation, an environmental consulting firm in Arlington, VA, in collecting environmental samples, conducting Phase I and II audits, and hazardous waste site remediation. Dr. Riefler received his B.S. from Cornell University, having graduated with distinction. |
