| CENTER for GEOTECHNICAL and ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH |
The Center for Geotechnical and Environmental Research was established in 1988, with Gayle F. Mitchell serving as the Center's director and Shad M. Sargand as co-director. Since that time CGER has acquired national recognition for its progress in research on pavements, culverts, leachate, and plastic pipes. In 1997, the CGER was incorporated into the newly-established Ohio Research Institute for Transportation and the Environment. The Center for Geotechnical and Environmental Research remains, however, a recognized resource for multidisciplinary research teams to address environmental, geotechnical and groundwater research.
